When we first arrived at the race venue of the 2nd round of the Australian National Series, we had to scratch our heads a little bit. Where was the hill? Where was anything? And a tumble weed tumbled by.

After spending some time in snowy Whistler this off-season, Chris and I are back in Australia taking advantage of the weather and racing the National Series.  This past weekend, we were in Adelaide for the Australian National Championships and it turned out to be a very successful weekend for both of us.

Chris Kovarik has started the 2010 season off with a bang, winning his first National Championship since 2002. Claire Buchar also claimed victory in the womens race so this is a great start to the season by both of them. The team now has 2 National Champions in both their respected countries. Nice one guys.

In a tightly fought race for the downhill title at the SRAM Australian Mountain Bike Championships in Adelaide today, Chris Kovarik won his fourth national title while world number one, and pre-race favourite, Sam Hill crashed on the final corner just metres from the finish line.
